FIVE SUPERSPORT TOTTENHAM BOYS TO REPRESENT SA

Five SuperSport Tottenham Hotspur players have been selected to represent South Africa in the national under20 squad against Lesotho in the international qualifier’s return leg in Lesotho.

The team is scheduled to assemble at the Johannesburg’s Milpark hotel on Thursday July 29, and the last day of the qualifier is August 8.

The names of the players selected are goalkeeper Sherwyn Naicker, Tshepo Gumede, Sheldon Stevens, Mbuso Manyoni and Damien Mitchell.

The selected players are currently training with the first team in the 2010-2011 pre-season programme at the Pretoria University’s Groenkloof campus in Tshwane.

These boys are highly rated by the academy’s head of recruitment and education Godfrey Mosoetsa:

Tshepo Gumede:
His aerial strength is amazing
He has 30/40 metre passes to the striker
He kicks with both feet

Sherwyn Naicker:
He’s a shot-stopper
He’s agile
His hand-distribution is exciting

Sheldon Stevens:
Physical strength, strong
He’s got pace, he’s very fast
He’s aggressive
He’s got a powerful shot
He’s able to run through the channels
He’s able to score goals

Damien Mitchell:
His technique is fantastic
-He’s faster
He’s able to deliver good crosses
He has good take-off and acceleration

Mbuso Manyoni:
He has basic technique
He’s able to distribute passes with both feet
