UNITED’S CONFED CUP UPDATEPremier Soccer League champions SuperSport United left for Morocco on Wednesday night and have arrived safely on Thursday. Matsatsantsa will play against FUS De Rabat of Morocco in the Confederations Cup’s return leg on Sunday.
The match starts at 6:30pm.
“The flight was very long, especially the stop-over in Paris felt forever. In effect we travelled for 24hours to finally get to our destination in Rabat. The hotel is fine, but it is not a five-star as advertised but clean and neat and the food is ok. We had a lovely dinner last night at the Ambassador's house. He was very hospitable and it was a pleasant evening. We all hit bed early and recovered well,” said the SuperSport Physiotherapist Jacqui McCord in Rabat.
According McCord the team had enough rest from Friday morning with the training session scheduled for the evening.
“This morning the players are resting and we will train at18h30 on Rabat’s training grounds. We will only see the pitch (the match venue) on Saturday (tomorrow),” She said.
McCord said Rabat is quiet place; however, the worrying factor is the weather condition.
“Rabat is a town very like Pretoria pretty and peaceful. The weather is hot, I’m talking 30degrees Celsius. The people and the Rabat team have all been very helpful and hospitable,” concluded the Physio.
