PSL CEO WELCOMES VASCO DA GAMA INTO PREMIER LEAGUE

Following their victory during the second leg of the National First Division (NFD) stream winners’ final, Premier Soccer League CEO Kjetil Siem has welcomed Vasco Da Gama into the PSL’s elite league for the 2010/2011 season.

Siem was on hand in Parow Park to present the winners with the NFD trophy as well as a cheque for R300 000.00 on Sunday afternoon.

Vasco will make their debut in top flight football next season by virtue of their 2-1 win over Black Leopards (3-2 on aggregate).

“Vasco’s promotion is richly deserved,” said Siem.

“They’ve shown during the last two seasons that they have a sound administrative unit and have proven that professionalism off the field has its rewards on it.”

“I’m satisfied that they will adapt to life in the top league especially coming to terms with our various manuals, “added Siem.

Siem did point out Vasco will need to find a suitable home ground as their current Stadium does not meet PSL requirements for premier league football.
