Tshwane rivals SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns will take on each other in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) Festival this weekend.
The Festival is scheduled for Saturday at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in Kwa-Mhlanga in the Mpumalanga Province.
The match starts at 10am.
This match precedes another encounter between the Mpumalanga-based-outfit TS Galaxy and Richards Bay at noon.
The Super boys are going into the Tshwane derby highly motivated following their convincing home victory against Maritzburg United last weekend.
However, this is going to be a fierce battle between the two perennial rivals come Saturday morning.
“We had exciting training sessions this week and the level of confidence is very strong. We are looking forward to the derby, as you know, this is going to be an exciting battle and no one wants to lose,” said the Matsatsantsa left-back Neo Rapoo.
Matsatsantsa are currently at the crest of the Reserve League log table having played 22 matches and have bagged 49 points.
“There’s always pressure in each and every game. Sundowns are a good side but working as a compact unit can make us give them a hard time. We have a healthy team spirit and treat each other as brothers because we connect very well on and off the pitch,” concluded Rapoo who is also a member of the first team.
United are followed by Cape Town City FC and Orlando Pirates on position two and one with 45 and 44 points respectively.
