SuperSport United DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) side beat Stellenbosch FC 1-0 in Cape Town on the weekend.

The match was played at the Idas Valley Sports Ground on Sunday.

The two sides displayed some brilliant performances and created numerous scoring opportunities as the match progressed.

United conceded a penalty in the 19^th minute of the first half but the Matsatsantsa keeper Samkelo Xulu was up to the task as he denied the “Stellies” forward.

The score was 0-0 at half time.

In the second half both outfits continued creating scoring opportunities but the goalkeepers showed some class.

Tendamudzimu Matodzi who was on fire on the day whipped some beautiful deliveries on the right as his teammates failed to tap in.

It was the visitors who separated the two teams as Dan Tshimanga who came on as a substitute headed home a beautiful delivery on the left in the 69^th minute to put his side in the lead.

The final score was 1-0 to SuperSport United who consolidated their position in the top three of the Reserve League.

Meanwhile Matsatsantsa will play their next match against TS Galaxy this coming Sunday at the Tsakane Stadium in Ekurhuleni.
